JOB OPENING: 

Fully Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist

**Urgently Hiring**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to substance abuse members appropriate to the position; prepares/review Person Center Plans, Discharge Plans, and Follow-up care program; provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.

  • Conducting clinical assessments for substance abuse and mental health disorders.

  • Running individual, family and group outpatient therapy sessions 

  • Submit paperwork in a timely manner.

  • Maintain member files according to clinical procedures and ensure the confidentiality of files.

  • Document the members's progress in the program through service/progress notes within the required time frame.

  • Crisis contingency planning.

  • Notify the Clinical Director(s) within 24 hours of any member crisis.

  • Follow guidelines as written in Clinical Coverage policy 8c.

  • Provide clinical supervision to staff in SACOT & SAIOP programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and ability to perform the 12 Core Functions

  • Knowledge and ability of using the ASAM Criteria

  • Knowledge and ability to diagnosis using the DSM IV

  • A thorough knowledge of psychosocial, psychological, behavioral and psychiatric disorders, including substance abuse. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally in a professional manner and style, and the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and educational levels.

  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, staff, community resources and the general public.

  • Knowledge of community resources

  • Comfortable with working with diverse ethnic and cultural groups.

EDUCATION:

A Master’s Degree in Social Work or related human services is required. Must be fully licensed as a clinical addiction specialist (LCAS) as required by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board.
